1 Day Woodland Survival Skills

Have you ever watched Bear Grylls, Ray Mears or even I'm A Celebrity on the telly and thought you would be up for that kind of challengeThis course designed to give you a taste of what bushcraft and Survival is all about.  We will cover all the important aspects of survival in the woods which includes, shelter, water, food and fire.  During the course we shall touch on foraging for medincinal and edible plants and look at chord making.  The course is taught in an informal and light hearted manner so relax and enjoy your experience. 

We shall start with a quick introduction of the basics of survival and then we spend a major part of the day covering shelter building  and fire starting.    We also look at the safe use of knives and introduce some basic knife projects. If time allows there is an opportunity to try fire by friction.

• Included -  teas, coffee, juice and biscuits.

• Bring any additional food to make up your lunch (cold or to be cooked on fire).

• Clothing - Waterproofs, long trousers and sturdy footwear.

• All other equipment supplied by us and the forest.

• Meet at the Cafe entrance to the Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre for 9.30am.
